An Innovative Posture Therapy Approach – ONLY UK Postural Restoration Certified (PRC) Physiotherapist. Clinics in Leeds & London.
Whether you have recently developed posture issues or have continued with problems for years and tried everything, you can find a new level of control over posture and relief of any related pain or injury symptoms from this unique method of treatment. There is simply no other posture therapy approach that is as comprehensive. And the best part is: you will learn to treat yourself.
Postural Restoration, also called PRI, is a physiotherapy approach which evaluates and changes the way your body sits, stands, lies, and moves to improve posture, improve gait, decrease pain, increase relaxation, and restore ease of movement.
Anyone suffering with posture related issues such as abnormal gait (how you walk), pain in muscles or joints from the feet to the head may benefit (neck, back and sacroiliac joint pain, piriformis syndrome, shoulder pain, knee pain, ankle pain, achilles tendonitis, plantar fasciitis), as well as those suffering from sciatica, thoracic outlet syndrome, pelvic floor issues, headaches, jaw pain, dizziness and shortness of breath.
Postural Restoration is particularly useful for treating posture- related symptoms that are chronic, and which may occur in multiple locations, symptoms which have not responded well to other forms of treatment, and symptoms that appeared gradually over time, or occurred spontaneously without any known reason. It is also very helpful with recovering from accidents and injuries. If you suspect your posture is causing or contributing to your pain, you are probably right.
What is PRI treatment like?
Treatment will consist of assessment, exercises and manual therapy techniques to decrease symptoms and restore ease.
This is not a “no-pain, no-gain” technique.
Exercises often give immediate relief and give the patient independent control of symptoms. Your posture therapy treatment will typically last 1hr, and will be strictly 1-on-1.
PRI treats the whole body at once, changing the patterns that are causing posture related issues.
